Laundry Room Remodeling Ideas

A laundry room is a special place. For some, the design of the room can make or break how much or how little we dread washing and folding laundry. Have you ever walked into your laundry room, looked around, and wished it were better organized or had more storage space? Well here are some remodeling ideas that might make you reconsider just what you want from your space.

1. Shelves

Shelves add both functionality and an added layer of style to any room. They can be used to hold supplies, decor or just a little extra space to leave temporary items on while you’re in the midst of washing and folding.

2. Table Tops

Imagine having your washer and dryer sit under a nice wooden table top. Table tops offer a convenient way to place or fold clothes while you’re fully immersed in getting things done. Table tops also allow you to have extra room to sort and fold without having to leave the room. The more counter space you have, the easier it is!

3. Hidden Ironing Board

Consider adding a built-in ironing board in a drawer or as a pull-down. It’s a great way to hide that not-so-stylish ironing board while still having easy access to it. The more functional you can make your laundry space, the more enjoyable it can be.

4. Pet Washing Station

If you’re a pet owner, you’ll understand the stress involved in giving your pet a bath. If your pet is often running around the yard, try to get them in a bathtub. Modern pet washing stations are typically a nice tiled space that still offers comfort to your pet and gives you a convenient way to clean them.

5. New Look and Feel

Sometimes, you just need to freshen up a room with a new coat of paint, countertops and some bright tiles. Consider colors that reflect your home or the home you want to have.  Even something as small as new curtains or storage blinds can help brighten the space, especially if you can take advantage of natural light. White and gray tones offer a clean and bright feel. Adding a pop color and small pieces of decor can complement the room and add style.

Remember, your laundry room doesn’t have to be a dull space, it can be both stylish and fully functional. You can make small changes over the course of time or tackle the project all at once. Whatever you decide to do, consider the ones we’ve mentioned above. These are just a few simple ideas to transform your laundry room into an area that you can enjoy more.
