Bill’s remodeling career began in 1987, when he went to work as a carpenter for the contractor he had hired to build his home. Almost three decades later, he’s still enjoying life in the remodeling industry.

Bill was born and raised in Pepperell. He was drawn to remodeling because he loves working with his hands and tackling the challenges that come with renovating houses.

Bill and Scott Blain met in the mid-1980s while working as carpenters on the same home. They both joined Custom Contracting in 1991; Bill as a production manager, Scott as a lead carpenter. Bill later transitioned from production manager to general manager to his current role as president.

“At Custom Contracting, we have the benefit of working with a group of people who all get along and believe in what we’re doing,” said Bill. “I believe our clients pick up on that, as do our trade subcontractors. Good people like working for good people.”

Bill and his wife Charlene live in Ayer, raised seven children and now enjoy spending time with their ever growing brood of grandchildren
